WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?

  • Chiropractic medicine involves the evaluation and conservative treatment of neuromusculoskeletal disorders without the use of drugs or surgery. Therefore, chiropractors treat conditions that affect the nerves, bones, muscles, and joints of the body.
  • Chiropractors deal specifically with vertebral subluxation, which is a decrease in movement of the joint.
  • Vertebral Subluxation is corrected by a specific spinal adjustment. Spinal adjustments consist of a quick direct force to the joint by the use of my hands or a small tool to restore proper movement to the joint.

SPINAL ADJUSTMENTS CAN BE PERFORMED BY SEVERAL TECHNIQUES

  • Diversified adjusting (a thrust applied specifically to the joint by my hands)
  • SOT Blocking (padded blocks are placed around the pelvis in order to restore proper alignment to the pelvis and sacrum)
  • Extremity adjusting (an adjustment applied specifically to the joints of your extremities)
  • Activator adjusting (a hand held mechanical adjusting device is used to produce gentle, controlled and repeatable percussion force to the joints)
  • Distraction techniques (stretches out and opens the joint)
